My friends in the army tell me they always love it when the Army Air Corps Apaches have their backs, because those in the cockpit have the heart and soul of an infantryman. It is difficult for her to say as it is most difficult for us to acknowledge, let alone hear it. But done right, twenty years after you hang up your uniform, your children still know you, like you, and see you. As does your constant companion of lo these many years her self. The one who remembers what it was really like when you were there. <br /><br />Having done great and wondrous things, it is difficult to step down to mere mortality, but it is the nature of life. It is who we were, who we are. <br /><br />But the smell of JP4 always brings a memory . . .<br /><br />Thanks for you post, it's nice.
